Croatian island of Vis remembers World War Two role
Croatia has marked the final visit of British Second World War veterans to the only island in the Adriatic that withstood Hitler's onslaught, and provided a base for attacks on Nazi-dominated Yugoslavia.
Last week our Town of Komiža, sleepy in the pre-season, was suddenly woken up by a mixed Slovenian-Dutch film crew. They were shooting a commercial for Dutch Vodafone.
The agency They and production company Comrad from Amsterdam, which take care of the advertising campaigns for Vodafone initially wanted to shoot on the Spanish Ibiza, but the production company from Slovenia, Nora Production, recommended they shoot it on the islands of Vis and Biševo.
